WHY A HOLIDAY RENTAL INSTEAD OF A HOTEL? |
There are numerous obvious advantages to rent a house for your holiday:
Cost. The cost is generally less than any comparable hotel room and you get more value for your money. In addition, you can save a lot of money by eating occasional meals at home -most people like to eat some meals at home rather than having to eat all meals in bars/restaurants on their vacation.
Space. Comfort. Instead of being limited to a small hotel room with limited space and throngs of tourists, by renting a house you get space - Kitchens for cooking, Living rooms for gathering together, much more spacious surroundings... For larger parties, this is the best way to socialize. Rather than being cramped in hotel bedrooms, here you have an entire house and grounds at your disposal. For families with children renting offers flexibility. Children can be left to sleep late in the morning while parents enjoy a breakfast on the sunny roof terrace or by the pool.
Privacy. Your property will have private bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, kitchen, and whatever other amenities you're interested in...stunning views, private pool, secluded location...
No tips, taxes or service charges.
Enjoyment. The appeal of living in a real neighbourhood and soaking up the rhythm of the locals. Renting your own holiday home offers a more relaxing vacation than staying in hotels, and the opportunity to inhabit a home just as the people who really live there. On the other hand homeowners and agents are often able to provide you with tips and hints that only the locals know. This can make a huge difference in the enjoyment of your trip.
MINIMUM BOOKING PERIOD |
Most properties are rented on a weekly minimum basis, and during peak summer travel season, most rent on a Saturday to Saturday basis. Also when you wish to stay fewer days, the rental to pay will be one week. There are no weekend or midweek bookings.
BOOKING DEPOSIT |
A booking deposit of 30% of the total cost for the duration of your stay must be paid when booking. This is non-returnable in the event of any cancellation by the client. The balance due and the warranty must be paid -in cash- on arrival to the property. Keys will be delivered at that moment.
WARRANTY |
In every property a warranty of 200 Euro in cash is to be paid at arrival. This warranty will be refunded on the last day of the client’s stay after checking the property. In case of severe damage the warranty will be refunded on the client’s bank account after withdrawing the amount of money needed to do the repair or replacement of the damaged item.
HOLIDAY STARTING & FINISHING DAYS |
In general, the "change-over day" at holiday homes is a Saturday. Many proprietors are also more flexible about the arrival and departure day in off-peak months.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIME |
Property arrival is between 16:00 and 22:00 pm. Please, let us know your estimated time of arrival so that we can pass this information on to the house owner/key holder. This will help them to organise their day properly and to ensure that they are there to meet you at the agreed time. If you are delayed, it is imperative that you telephone the owner or key holder, in good time, to change arrangements. Access to properties is not possible after 22:00 unless special arrangements have previously been made for you. Arrivals or departures after midnight will be charged with 20 Euro extra.
The key holder may refuse entrance to the property if one of the following occurs:
1) The balance due is not paid in cash on arrival.
2) The arrival time is not respected and the key holder has not been informed.
3) The number of people is over the allowed maximum.
On the day of your departure, unless prior agreement has been reached, please ensure that you vacate the property by 10 am. This is to ensure that there is enough time to prepare the property for the next visitors. Please leave the property tidy, take away garbage and personal belongings.
PARTY SIZE / COMPORTMENT |
No more than the maximum number of persons, as stated in the individual description may occupy this property, and the owner may ask people to leave the property if this maximum is exceeded unless agreed in writing before arrival. Where two numbers are listed (e.g. 4/6) this means that we consider that four people can be accommodated comfortably, but that an additional two can also be accommodated -either on sofa-beds or supplementary beds. A '+baby' reference in the description means a cot suitable for a child of up to 2 years old can be provided on request. Sleeping arrangements are clearly described within each property description. Owners do not allow tents or caravans in their grounds. The guest who books the property is responsible for the proper behaviour of his party. We expect all clients to have consideration for other people. If in the owner's opinion you or any member of your party behaves in such a manner that is not acceptable by civilized standards, the owner may ask you and your party to vacate the house and ask also the intervention of local authorities. No refunds will be made and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.
PETS |
Some of our properties accept pets. If you have brought your pet/s with, this should have been prearranged with us. Please ensure that you keep pets under control at all times and that they are not allowed to get up on chairs or beds. They should never be left in the property unattended and must be kept under control in the presence of other animals. Pets are never allowed near the swimming pool and guarded beaches.
SWIMMING POOLS |
Unless otherwise stated, pools are filtered but not heated and are not available in the winter season. As with all swimming pools without life guards, children/non-swimmers need close supervision. Pools are cleaned and treated usually once a week. Please respect the opening hours. Communal pools are open from 1/06 till 30/09. "Spring-fed" pools are "albercas" or water deposits, used to irrigate the land, but which can sometimes be used for swimming in the summer months. They do not have pumps or filtrations systems. They are filled with natural mountain water. Their use and cleanliness are subject to water supply.
GAS, ELECTRICITY & WATER |
Gas, electricity and water for everyday lighting, cooking and domestic appliances is included in the rental price. Water of the tap can be used for drinking. The Spanish domestic power system is 220 or 225 volts AC. Standard continental two pin plugs and three pin plugs (with earth) are used. A two pin plug will fit in a three pin socket. Some of our more remote properties do not have mains electricity and use solar power or batteries to provide lighting. This is indicated in the property description. Water is metered at most properties, so please use it sparingly, especially during the summer when supplies can sometimes run low during spells of particularly dry weather.
LINEN/TOWELS |
Bed linen and towels are provided at the majority of our properties. Beds may not be made up on arrival at some properties. Please note that pool and beach towels are not provided.
| COTS |
At some properties a cot can be provided by paying a supplement of 2 Euro per day. Please ask us when you make the reservation.
